Single Source
Single source describes a situation in which an organization relies on one approved supplier or manufacturer for a component or material, even though alternatives may exist in the market. This dependency can increase exposure to supply disruptions, price increases, and limited negotiation leverage. Identifying and qualifying alternative sources helps improve sourcing flexibility and supply resilience.
